Happy 2011! I hope everyone has a wonderful and prosperous new year!
I am so bad about posting! Every year I say I’ll get better, and every year it never quite happens. I’ll keep trying this year and hopefully it will be better! I’ve finally graduated from nursing school last year, so at least I’ll have a little more time!
On the crafting front, I just finished a little project, a little amigurumi doll. The pattern is called Nurse Jazzy Amigurumi and it’s by Sayjai Thawornsupacharoen from KandJDolls on Etsy. It’s really fun and quite cute! I will almost certainly be making several of these little creations!
My goal is to try to finish up some of my wips (works in progress) this year. I have so many projects partially done that it’s kinda driving me nuts. I’m so ADD when it comes to crafting projects!
I’ll do my best to try to keep up a little better with my posting and my crafts!
Happy New Year!! Okay, so I’m running a little late, what else is new?
Since It’s a new year I thought I might try a new look for the site. Since I’m also on a Twilight kick at the moment, I figured I would just combine the two. Such a pretty theme! Thank you Chris Murphy at http://www.farfromfearless.com!
I do have a goal this year to try to update the site more often, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
Good luck and prosperity to you and all those that you hold dear this year!
Okay… so I’m a little late. It’s still 10/31 one time zone over. Halloween is such a fun time with all the dressing in costumes and candy and stuff. I’m sad it’s over. Oh well, there’s always next year!!
For all of you that don’t know, I love the clothing from the Regency period. In fact, I’ve been wanting to make a dress from that time period. Luckly I know just the place to go for the pattern. Sense and Sensibility has wonderful patterns for many different time periods including, Regency, Romantic, and Edwardian. To make things even easier, the brilliant creator has now made available ePattens, which allow you to download the pattern right to your computer. No more waiting for the mail and it’s less expensive!! Be sure to check her site out at www.sensibility.com and her ePatterns at Sense and Sensibility ePatterns .
For me, now it’s time to start preparing for next Halloween! Now the question is, what am I going to dress up as….?
Well I decided today to start a new knitting project. I have have been eyeing this ever sense the new issue of Knitty came out. It’s called Ice Queen and it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s going to look so good with my black coat. You can see the pattern for yourself by clicking here.
I’ve gone ahead and ordered my beads and yarn now I just have to wait or them to get here. I sure hope it doesn’t take long for them to get here. I be sure to post pictures of my progress here and on my Ravelry page
Speaking of Ravelry, this site is a knitter’s/crocheter’s dream come true. Be sure to check it out by clicking here.
Okay, so it’s been a long time since I posted here. I really do have a good reason though. You see wedding planning is hard work. Thank goodness there’s just 3 weeks to go.
Here is some of my handiwork when it comes to the wedding. This is what our flower girl/ringbearer are going to carry. They are going to throw leaves that will be inside. This was my first attempt at felting. I must say I’m pretty pleased with the results. I’ll admit though I was sweating it for a while. I was worried I would end up with a green and orange mess instead of a cute pumpkin basket.
As the title says, i wish Spring would hurry up and get here. I’ve had snow and ice and everything was pretty and white. So enough already. Give me warm breezes and flowers and leaves. Go away winter.
Sorry. Just had to get that out.
Well since it’s October and October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’ve decided to “Go Pink” for the month.
Breast cancer is just one of many diseases affecting so many people that need more research so that hopefully a cure can be found.
Women out there, please remember to do your monthy self-breast exams. Those few minutes could possibly save your life. And don’t forgot mammograms too! Every woman over that age of 40 should have a baseline done.
Ladies, please take care of yourselves! Don’t become another statistic.
Well, it’s that time again, school time. Not that it’s bad. No, I acutally like school alot and the fact that it going to teach me how to be come a nurse makes it that much better. But unfortunately it’s going to cut my project time down to practically nothing. So be prepared for few updates in the upcoming months. As much as I wish it was the other way around Anatomy and Psyc come before knitting and cross-stitch.
Ever since we put our hummingbird feeder up a while back we have had one particular hummingbird visit us. We have nicknamed her Ruby, since she is a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird (as far as we can tell from reference pictures).
Since we cannot have any pets, she is the closest thing we have to one. We definitely love her like a pet. So here she is; Isn’t she beautiful?
Well I finally got some pictures of my baby Serissa bonsai. They aren’t the best pictures (no laughing in otherwords), but at least it’s something.
I’m just happy she’s still alive. Now if I can just keep her that way…
Here are the pictures (click them to get a description and a bigger picture):
